Decorating Cupcakes #15: Halloween Mummy cupcake

Decorating Cupcakes #15: Halloween Mummy cupcake

How to use simple decorating techniques to make a mummy cupcakes. I don't use the plastic bag technique in this one. If you plan on decorating cakes or cupcakes in the future I recommend you buy a basic decorator tip set. They can be purchased relatively cheaply. I use a tip called a basket weave tip that makes a ribbon shape with the icing. This idea was found in a Halloween edition of a magazine. Music by Jason Shaw

Betty's Happy Halloween Vanilla Cupcake Icing

Betty's Happy Halloween Vanilla Cupcake Icing

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Happy Halloween Vanilla Cupcake Icing. This is a buttercream icing that is easy to make and spread on cupcakes. I previously uploaded a video on making Happy Halloween Vanilla Cupcakes, and this current recipe is used to ice those cupcakes. Since I made orange cupcakes and white cupcakes, in this video I make orange-colored ice and white-colored icing. My grandson, Carter, comes in toward the end of the video to help decorate the cupcakes. Ingredients: ¼ cup butter, softened to room temperature 3 cups confectioner's sugar (icing sugar) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 tablespoons water (more may be added, if needed) dash of salt 10 drops yellow food coloring 1 drop red food coloring To a large mixing bowl, add ¼ cup softened butter, 3 cups confectioner's sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 3 tablespoons water. Mix with an electric mixer until smooth. Add more sugar to thicken or water to thin, if needed, for good spreading consistency. Divide icing into two equal parts. To one part add 10 drops of yellow food coloring and 1 drop of red food coloring. Stir thoroughly to get a nice orange color for this half of the icing. Leave the other half white. Spread icing immediately as desired on cooled cupcakes. Decorate tops of cupcakes with candy corn or other Halloween-themed candy. Place on a nice serving plate until ready to serve. This icing will harden on the outside, making the cupcakes easy to handle. You should do any decorating while ...

Brownie Cupcakes

Brownie Cupcakes

My blog- 'Penny Lane' at: sugarspundreams.blogspot.com My apron is by The Handmaiden's Cottage on ETSY: www.etsy.com ...and was a gift from a fellow baker who owns 'The Fancy Lady Gourmet'-you can order cupcakes/customcookie/truffles on-line: thefancyladygourmet.com Fudge Brownie Cupcakes with Sugar Krack Frosting Tutorial Fudge Brownie Recipe: Ingredients: Yield: 16 brownies Ingredients * 8 ounce(s) 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Bar * 6 tablespoon(s) unsalted butter, cut into pieces * 3/4 cup(s) granulated white sugar * 1/8 teaspoon(s) (pinch) of salt * 2 large eggs * 1/3 cup(s) all-purpose flour Directions Preheat the oven to 350°F. Put cupcake cups in tray. Melt the chocolate and butter in the top of a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over barely simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from the heat. Using a large spoon, beat the sugar and salt into the chocolate mixture. Then beat in the eggs, one at a time. Add the flour and mix until the batter pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Fill each cupcake cup half way with batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a tester inserted into the center of each brownie cupcakes comes out clean. Removing brownies from oven BEFORE the full baking time is best(I took mine out about 4 minutes early)! They should be a few minutes away from cooking all the way thru and then they "set" as they cool. If you cook fully, the brownies will be hard! Remove from oven and cool for at least 10 minutes.
